MRCH 4319 - Global Perspectives in Retailing Principles

This lecture course covers the fundamentals of retailing with an emphasis on global, multichannel, and managerial viewpoints. The development of retail institutions, changing business environment, strategic planning, and customer behavior precede exposure to multichannel and global retailing. Many facets of store planning and management of functional areas including human resources, finance, and merchandising are emphasized. The marketing dimension is highlighted through coverage of pricing, highlight promotion, and the role of the supply chain in retailing.
