HIST 3311 - Topics in Public History


Credit(s): 3

An introduction to selected topics of public history, including their respective history in the United States, current issues and best practices, and research opportunities. Potential topics include architectural history, material culture, interpreting history, nonprofit management, digital history, public memory and writing public history. A combination of readings, discussions and hands-on work will provide opportunities to connect theory to practice. Repeatable once with a change of topic.
Repeated: No Prerequisite Course(s): Six hours of 1000- or 2000-level history
