Examines the causes and consequences of economic stratification in the United States and as part of the larger global economic system. Inequality and poverty cause many of the most serious social problems facing the world today. Problems such as terrorism, crime, human trafficking and environmental degradation are directly linked to these issues. This course looks at social stratification from both local and global perspectives.
