DFHH 3350 - Audiology for Educators of the Deaf

This course covers the basics of the anatomy of the ear, physics of sound, reading audiograms, and a basic understanding of hearing screenings and testing. In addition, the course will cover the basics of amplification and assistive technology encountered in a deaf and hard-of-hearing classroom, as well as discussing cochlear implantation. A discussion of the controversy surrounding these issues, as well as their strengths and weaknesses, also is a portion of this course.
