CHEM 3336 - Physical Chemistry for Biological Sciences

Credit(s): 3

This course covers the core aspects of biophysical chemistry (thermodynamics and kinetics as well as quantum mechanics, spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction),which are of great importance to students of biology and biochemistry. The course focuses on the basic physicochemical principles and model systems that are essential to understanding, explaining and predicting the behavior of biological systems in terms of molecular forces. The courseintegrates the fundamental concepts of physical chemistry with the structures, functions and molecular mechanisms of biological processes.

Prerequisite Course(s): CHEM 3421
