PUB 586 - Manuscript Acquisition Credit(s): 3
This course is an overview of acquisition processes common in publishing houses and journals: solicitation, processing, and selection of manuscripts, as well as securing permissions and copyrights for acquired manuscripts. Students will learn what “publishable” means and be able to identify what professional standards are for manuscript selection. Students will examine manuscripts, make recommendations for publication, and work closely with authors during copyediting processes. Prerequisite(s): Graduate Standing
