Overview
The pre-health professions program at SFA mentors and guides undergraduate students toward successful fulfillment of prerequisites for the professional program of their choosing. Their SFA education will be the foundation upon which professional training will be built.
As an undergraduate, pre-health professions students will declare and pursue a bachelor’s degree in any discipline (excluding nursing) while also taking prerequisites for their professional program. Due to the number of science prerequisites, as well as the topic covered on many admission examinations, majors and/or minors in disciplines such as biology and chemistry are common among professional school applicants.
Pre-health professions program pathways include pre-dental, pre-medical, pre-occupational therapy, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, pre-physician assistant and pre-veterinary medicine.
