The students affairs and higher education program accepts students with undergraduate degrees from all disciplines. All admission materials must be received by the Counselor Education Admissions Committee prior to following deadlines:

  • Fall admission - March 15
  • Spring admission - Oct. 1
  • Summer admission - March 15

Admission Criteria

An overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work.

Admission Process

To the Office of Research and Graduate Studies

  • application to Research and Graduate Studies with all transcripts. Apply online at applytexas.org/adappc/gen/c_start.WBX.
  • a $50 application fee.
  • verbal and quantitative scores on the GRE

Research and Graduate Studies application, application fee, transcript and GRE scores are to be sent to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, Stephen F. Austin State University, P.O. Box 13024, SFA Station, Nacogdoches, TX 75962.

To the Student Affairs and Higher Education Admissions Committee

  • three letters of recommendation with recommendation form
  • personal statement of career goals
  • personal data form

Please return your three letters of recommendation and SFA recommendation forms, personal statement of goals and personal data form to:
