Athletic Training, M.S.

Admission to the graduate athletic training program is highly competitive, and only a limited number of applicants are admitted each year. Prospective graduate athletic training students must first be accepted into graduate studies through the SFA Office of Research and Graduate Studies before participating in the review process for admission into the program at the department level. Neither acceptance to SFA graduate studies nor meeting the GATP’s admission criteria guarantees acceptance into the two-year athletic training program.

GATP uses a cohort model with admissions occurring during the spring semester and with a program start occurring during the summer II term. Downloadable program documents can be found at sfasu.edu/kinesiology. Check the GATP website for updates. Transfer graduate students are not accepted in this program. Applications and required materials are due by Jan. 10 of each calendar year. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
