Sports Business Curriculum
The sport industry is one of the most visible and dynamic fields in the world. Today's sport organizations recognize the need for business-educated professionals and are seeking graduates with an understanding of the sport industry. The sports business degree offers students the opportunity to build a foundation of business administration knowledge while also learning the uniqueness of this dynamic industry. Careers in sport industry include opportunities in the front office of professional sports teams, college athletic departments, fitness administration, corporate sponsorship, sport tourism, recreation management, hospitality administration and more.

Business Common Requirement
Sports Business Major
The Sports Business, Major will consist of a nine hour core and various elective options for a total of 24 hours. Core: MGMT 3325; MGMT 4380; MKTG 4358 Systems Course Option: 3 hours from MGMT 4372; MKTG 4325 Special Problems/Internship: 3 hours from MGMT 4175; MGMT 4176; MKTG 4175; MKTG 4186 Sports Business Electives: 9 hours from MKTG 3358; ECON 3359; BLAW 3355; MKTG 3362; MGMT 3345, 4170; MKTG 4170 General Electives
The student may be required to complete additional elective hours to complete the degree. University Core Curriculum co-requisite lab hours will be applied to this area of the degree. Grade Requirements
- A grade of at least C in each first-year English course (ENGL 1301 , ENGL 1302 )
- A C average in work completed in the major field
- A C average in work completed in the minor field
The required averages are based on those SFA courses taken in each category that are included in the student’s official degree plan (CAPP). Transfer and advanced placement coursework are not included in GPA calculations.
