Return to: College of Sciences and Mathematics
The post-master’s certificate is designed for individuals with a MSN to provide care in a variety of primary care sites as a family nurse practitioner. This program option emphasizes care for communities, families and individuals who live and work in medically underserved areas. This program option is delivered online on a part-time basis and comprises 46 hours of coursework and 720 hours of clinical experience. Depending on the student’s MSN program courses, some of the certificate’s required courses may have been satisfied. Some of the student’s previous MSN clinical component work also may meet criteria, but competency in that area must be proven, and a minimum of 500 clinical hours will be required to complete the PMC-FNP option. The above will be determined on an individual basis; however, the minimum hour requirement will be 17 credit hours.
