The student affairs and higher education program accepts students with undergraduate degrees from all disciplines.

Admission Criteria

An overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 2.8 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work.

Admission Process

Submit the following to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies:
  • Application to Graduate Studies with all transcripts
  • A $50 application fee
  • GRE verbal and quantitative scores

Graduate Studies application, application fee, transcripts and GRE scores are to be sent to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, Stephen F. Austin State University, P.O. Box 13024, SFA Station, Nacogdoches, TX 75962.

Submit the following to the Student Affairs and Higher Education Admissions Committee:
  • Three letters of recommendation with recommendation form
  • Personal statement of career goals
  • Personal data form

Please return your three letters of recommendation and SFA recommendation forms, personal statement of goals and personal data form to:

Program Requirements

Electives


Three hours:  electives may be chosen from any college but must be approved by advisor prior to registration.

Comprehensive Exam


A comprehensive exam, either oral, written or both, is required.

Total hours: 42
