Admission Requirements
Requirements for admission are a 2. 75 overall GPA or a 2. 75 GPA in the last 60 hours of undergraduate study. Students wishing to pursue a master’s degree in kinesiology are encouraged to hold a bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in kinesiology. Students with degrees in related fields may apply, but may be required to take leveling courses as determined by the graduate program coordinator.
Major Description
A major in kinesiology requires 30 semester hours in the thesis program and 36 semester hours in the nonthesis program. Graduate students who intend to continue beyond the master’s degree are encouraged to elect the thesis program. All students entering the graduate program must take a common 12-hour core in combination with various electives from the human performance studies emphasis as well as other related fields.

Human Performance Studies Emphasis
Twelve credit hours of graduate-level (5000-5999) kinesiology course work as advised.
Electives
Twelve credit hours of approved graduate-level (5000-5999) electives.
