The  24 credit-hour secondary education minor, when paired with a general content major in a teaching field, prepares students eligibility to apply for Texas teacher certifications as a grade 6-12 content teacher or a preK-12 all-level content teacher.  Certification requirements also include the successful completion of all Texas Education Agency (TEA) required tests/assessments. Students may obtain eligibility to apply for certification through specific secondary education coursework should their major not require the secondary education minor.
Prerequisite requirements for admission to the educator preparation program and minor includes HDFS 2302  Human Growth & Development.
