SED 370 - Sociocultural and Historic Perspectives in American Education Credit(s): 3
This course focuses on a critical perspective of American education rooted in historical and sociocultural issues. Further, this course addresses the integration of power, race, culture and the struggle for identity as overarching themes in addressing the purpose of education, equity, equality and the promise of democratic education; and prepares pre-service candidates to begin developing a culturally relevant professional identity in preparation for the richness and complexity of American education. Course fee $6.
