MUSI 4344 - Methods and Materials for Teaching Secondary Orchestra Music I

Students will be presented with best practices for middle, junior high and high school orchestra programs. Topics will include ensemble organization, instructional practices, ensemble materials, philosophies of music education and state standards. Students will be regularly expected to write, present and share their ideas in discussion. Special emphasis will be placed on developing one’s own distinct philosophy of music education and applying the method in practice.
