Human Resource Management Curriculum
Human resources managers are employed in almost every industry to plan, direct and coordinate the administrative functions of an organization. They oversee the recruiting, interviewing and hiring of new staff; consult with top executives on strategic planning; and serve as a link between an organization’s management and its employees. The human resource management degree prepares students for entry-level HR positions and for careers in the human resource management field.
Human Resource Management Major
Students seeking a major in human resource management must qualify for a Bachelor of Business Administration. In addition to the core curriculum, business field of study and business foundation requirements, the student must complete MGMT 3373 , MGMT 3379 , MGMT 4384 , BLAW 4356 ; and 12 additional advanced semester hours from: ECON 4339 , BUSI 3330 or BUSI 3345 , BUSI 4300 , BUSI 4361, MGMT 3377 , MGMT 4361 , MGMT 4175 or MGMT 4176 .
The human resource management major requires 24 hours with at least 12 hours of advanced coursework in the major completed at SFA. GPA requirements include a minimum 2.0 overall within the business foundation and within the major.
