CMGT 3315 - Construction Operations: This 3-credit hour lecture course is designed to focus on what makes construction budgeting and financial management different from other business sectors. Because this industry is dominated by long-term contracts that extend beyond a single accounting cycle with equipment that is mobile and used on multiple project sites, it demands unique approaches to budgeting, accounting, and financial management. Major topics include introduction to construction financial management, accounting for financial resources, managing costs and profits, managing cash flows, and making construction financial decisions including the concept of ‘time value of money’. This course includes an ACCE Standards key assessment. Service Learning participation required.
