School Mathematics Teaching, Secondary-Level Emphasis, M.S.

This degree is designed for the person who is teaching or plans to teach middle or secondary school mathematics. Those who also are seeking initial certification should consult the James I. Perkins College of Education  for additional requirements.

The student will take MTE 555 , MTE 558 , MTE 560 , MTE 562 , MTE 565 , MTE 570 MTE 584 , and SED 532. In addition, the student seeking a middle school emphasis will be required to complete MTE 548 , MTE 550 , MTE 552 , and MTE 554 . The student seeking a high school emphasis will be required to complete MTE 566 , MTE 568 , MTE 572 , and MTE 580 .

Exceptions to these program requirements require approval of the department chair.
