The Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in theatre is a pre-professional program designed to prepare the student for entry into the theatre profession or for advanced study. Admission and screening procedures for the BFA program normally take place during the spring of the sophomore year. Transfer students will be screened and admitted by the same process in their first semester.
Each student in the program is subject to an annual review procedure that is required to continue in the program. Jury critiques may be required for certain courses as determined by the School of Theatre. Jury projects are conducted during the final two weeks of a semester for the purpose of assisting the student in his/her overall development of professional skills.
The BFA in Theatre has three concentrations: acting and directing, stage management, and technical theatre and design.
