- to give prospective science students the fundamentals of geology as a foundation for other earth science studies
- to provide training in geology and related earth sciences as an area of specialization for prospective elementary and secondary school teachers
- and to provide earth science majors with a broad foundation in geology and related earth sciences for future professional work or graduate study.
Student Organizations
- American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG)
- Geological Association of Students (GAS)
- Sigma Gamma Epsilon (SGE)
